Leaves That Are Green

This is my 200th post.  I should be more excited, I suppose.  Whatever.

"Leaves That Are Green" is one of my favorite Simon & Garfunkel songs. And it is that time of year, so here are some pics I took today. I took the boy to the park and chased him around for an hour and a half trying to get some decent pictures.  So here are a few (totally, uncharacteristically unretouched).

I was twenty-one years when I wrote this song
I'm twenty-two now but I won't be for long
Time hurries on
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind

The only way I could get him to be still was to stick him in a tree.

Once my heart was filled with the love of a girl
I held her close but she faded in the night
Like a poem I meant to write
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand

I threw a pebble in a brook
And watched the ripple run away
And they never made a sound
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand

Every time I tried to lead him somewhere, he would pull the limp noodle.  Grr.

I threw a pebble in a brook
And watched the ripple run away
And they never made a sound
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand

Hello, hello, hello, hello
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
That's all there is
And the leaves that are green turn to brown
And they wither in the wind
And they crumble in your hand

He's a sweet boy, even if he is a handful.  That's all there is.
