There are a lot of other aspects of my life I would like to organize, and not just in a plastic-bin sort of way {though bins can be extremely helpful!}. Fabulous people are organized, so I should be, too! As a side note, I was just looking down at my very dry and unpretty hands. Fabulous people take care of their nails, and since a) I get paid this week and b) it's my birthday on Saturday, I will be getting a mani-pedi at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Okay, back to the purpose of my writing at this very late hour. I'm actually at work, and it is quiet tonight {yay!}. I should be "putting my feet up," or preparing my lesson for Primary tomorrow, but I'd rather write. I have been bitten by the writing bug, and there's a lot I want to say. Eventually I'd like to become one of those bloggers who actually get paid to write, though I don't see that happening for some time; at least until I have something I can sell besides my wit and honesty.
Until I can get into a real writing routine, I'd like to set some goals to help me get organized. Yes, yes, I said I wasn't setting number goals, and I won't be measuring these. They are more like guidelines, anyway {please tell me you know that quote!}.
My goal is to write once per week. For journaling purposes, I think I should do a Weekend Wrap-Up {"What is a week-end?" --the Dowager Countess} to write about what actually happened during that period of time. It's mostly work, school, cleaning, laundry, etc., but there are the occasional great things that tend to get missed, like my road trip to Boise last week with Allison. That was a first; I have never gone to such significant lengths to go to a concert, but is was so great! There's also the Fabulous Factor {FF}. I think I'll go from using the fQ {Fabulousness Quotient} to the FF. fQ sounds precariously close to something I really shouldn't say, and I can leave out the -ness when using FF. Just to clarify--I am using Fabulous as a noun, not an adjective, since "Fabulous" is a state-of-being. As another side note, I had a funny text-conversation with my sister Sarah in our game of WordFeud {Scrabble for phones}. It went something like this, after my having entered the word "TAXA":
S: What the crap is a taxa?
M: Taxa is the plural of taxon, as in taxonomy. Today's Biology lesson is brought to you by the letter X.
S: Lame!!!!! I hate biology!
S: It's like I'm watching PBS!
I think Dad would have been proud of me for that one. So anyway, back to the blogging guidelines I am setting up for myself. With the goal of writing every day {when I can be more than a hobbyist}, there should be weekly features. Let's see if I can come up with some good ones now.
- Musical Mondays. Since I write a lot about music anyway, this could be good . . . except that now there has to be alliteration to my days of the week! I guess I set myself up for that with the FF, which will go for . . .
- Fabulous Factor Fridays. This will be where I write about the fabulousness of the week. This will also be a good reminder/measuring stick for if I am, indeed, more fabulous this week than the last.
- Thrifty Thursdays. I'm such a sucker for a good deal, I'm pretty happy when I find them. I don't have time or energy to be a serious deal-finder or crazy coupon lady, but I appreciate that other people do! I get daily e-mails from several of these people, and I think the most helpful one is Freebies2Deals. They share some pretty great things, and I have gotten some killer deals thanks to them. They are Utah-based, so a lot of the deals are local. Even so, it's very worthwhile! As an example, I got a box of cookies, two multi-packs of raisins, some wrapping paper and a pair of pants from Target for under $4 this week. Oh yes, I'm that good.
- Craft-tastic Tuesdays {doing things in order is way overrated}. I can't come up with an alliteration for Tuesday; any suggestions? This would make me accountable to actually do some of the crafts and projects of which I have so many: I'd have to have something new to show each week. You know there just might be something to setting some SMART goals after all!
- Wednesday . . . I'm not sure what to do; maybe "What-I'm-Reading Wednesday," or "Work-It Wednesday." Then I'd have to be accountable for working out and actually doing good stuff for my body. Unfortuately, I workwork 12-hour shifts every Wednesday, nor have I haven't really started exercising. That one may have to wait, but it's definitely something to think about.

Good guidelines! I also need to be better about writing on the ol' blog.
